Some garden maintenance tips for November
- November is one of the best times to be planting trees and hedging, and now is the start of the bare root season
- Hardy climbers such as Jasmine, Virginia Creeper and most species of clematis may also be planted now
- Prune decidious hedges such as hawthorn and beech
- Tidy herbaceous borders and cut off the dead tops of plants
- Established lawns maybe given a last mowing early in the month
- Remove dead and decaying leaves from any ponds, in addition to any fallen leaves and debris
- If you see a large mound of leaves take care as you may be disturbing the home of a resident hedgehog
