Family Garden Design

A family garden has to cater for both adults and children, and also needs to adapt as children grow, hence flexibility is important. It can be any style and celebrates family life by providing space for games, play, entertainment and dining. The smallest of gardens can accommodate a sandpit or swing, while larger plots have space for separate adult and child-friendly zones.

When creating an area for children you can have a structured play area with swings, equipment, or an area inviting exploration with the use of ponds and informal planting.

It is important when designing the planting scheme, that careful consideration is taken to ensure that family friendly plants are chosen, as some are dangerous to children and pets.
